Revainrating 5 out of 5

For my dad.: my feedback

For the price, it's tough to find a decent touch screen media player. I'm giving this to my dad for his birthday to replace his ancient Meizu M6 Miniplayer. Played around with this for a couple hours and I think it'll be perfect for him. (I always set up their electronics to work with everything in their house or their vehicles right out of the box)After four hours of use with the screen on most of the time, battery showed about 68%.It has a lot of neat features including a calculator, voice recorder (a bit better than phone quality), and FM Radio. That's the part my dad's going to like the most, I think. I was able to connect to my Bluetooth speaker for playback of MP3s and it worked just fine from across the room. Lost connection if I went more than about 20 feet away.Games are standard affair for about ten years ago and work well on this device. I doubt my dad will ever mess with them, but I seem to recall he likes Tetris and Sudoku. HahaEqualizer works well, but it doesn't have any advanced settings to customize. I found "Rock" did the best with most genre. I also used my own earbuds with this during my testing as I know how things should sound through them. It does the job! The earbuds that come with this are pretty standard. Nothing special.about the same as you get with a phone.Screen is decent for the size, but I wouldn't consider this for playing back full movies or long video. Did fine with a 720p video with no lag or skipping. Sensitivity is fine without the screen protector on, too. Decent brightness, even in sunlight. This reminds me a lot of an old Android phone. It's obviously well optimized for the hardware and it runs really quickly. I only experienced about ten seconds of freeze when I accessed my memory card with about 28GB of music on it. After it was loaded, I didn't have any further issues. While not in the same league (in terms of apps, hardware, or connectivity) with an iPod, this would be a suitable alternative for older people that don't really need the fancy stuff, or for a kid's first MP3 player. Really my kids or my dad would be thrilled with it.For the price, this is a no-brainer and fully earns the 5 stars. If this was being compared to other more expensive players, the rating would definitely change. This is NOT an iPod. Different playing field completely. This is not a dedicated hi-fi unit with DAC. This does compare well with other similarly priced units I've owned, and does it incredibly well. This is a feature-rich little touch screen media player that actually does what it claims.
