Review on Lixit Guinea Pig Igloo by Erica Nelson

Despite the good ratings, I wasn't expecting anything special. Luckily my two rat pups think so - I have one for each of them and they love them very much. They immediately started stuffing them with their bedding, and since then they've hardly come out, except sticking their heads out to accept my pea gifts before slamming the door (well, technically, the toilet paper inlet) in my face.. .and allowed myself to stick my hand in from time to time to scratch myself and make sure everyone was alive and well. They like the little vents on the side because they can see who's calling and what gifts are in hand before deciding whether to head for the door. You can also get these gifts through these window openings without letting cold air in by opening the front. I like the fact that the plastic is thick enough to insulate from the cold (it's nice and warm in there with bedding). Before that I used cardboard boxes because they like them but they don't provide good insulation against the cold and although we have heaters we live in a snowy winter climate at night. Plus, cleaning this house is a lot easier than finding and swapping out boxes every week. Luckily, after I put them in the cage, my boys left their cardboard houses and didn't look back. and the other is a hippopotamus; he's an agouti, literally twice the size of his cagemate). I have two of these and will probably buy another one for the lower end of their DCN cage. Highly recommended.
