The spool is paper and will be crumpled in shipping! LAUGH OUT LOUD! Probably not the best shipping packaging for this type of product. It took about 20 minutes to unravel the beads, but even though the spool was destroyed, the beads were beautiful! No scratches or chips. I use them for my valentine tree!
