Sharp knife! The best in the kitchen and dining room

This is a really SHARP knife. I wanted to try it right away, so I prewashed it in the sink and cut my finger nice - so be aware it's "well sharpened" on arrival. If the pen wasn't so cheap and crappy I would give it 5 stars. In its current form, the quality of the handle is not as high as that of a knife that cuts everything like butter. The price of the knife isn't that high either, so the company may have decided to skimp on the handle and invest in the production of the knife instead. It makes sense to me and I can live with that. I love the knife and can only recommend it. 12/4 My love for this knife continues. First thing last night I thought there was something wrong with my potato because the knife sliced through it like butter but with nice, even edges. Oh my god, that's just impressive. My love only grows Still, I'm disappointed in the company. I've gotten used to the fact that the quality of the handle doesn't match the quality of the knife. But every time I slip this beautiful knife into a cheap flexible plastic sheath that the company calls "knife guard" I cringe. It is not washable inside and is more of a makeshift packaging. Well if any manufacturer is reading these reviews I would advise you that my other favorite knife is Kuhn Rikon's beautiful green plastic paring knife. It's sharp and designed as a single unit. It comes with a durable molded plastic knife guard which is a delight. The scabbard has a well-marked guard. The scabbard has 3 holes for easy cleaning. The plastic handle is also good. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this knife. If Kuhn Rikon can put together such a set of knives and sheaths for a retail price of $7, I suspect that you can do a little better with the handle and sheath protector for your more expensive chef's knife. I personally decided to search AMAZON to see if I could purchase a sheath for this knife separately. 12/4 afternoon. Okay, I've come full circle with this knife. I was looking for a knife sheath and after all my complaints above found that Victorinox sells sheaths made specifically for this knife. I also read more reviews while I was there (thousands of positive reviews) and many experienced chefs comment that the knife handle is nice and doesn't slip like a slick handle when it gets wet. Well, the light came on. I think they are right. I also went in search of their paring knife and again found an incredible number of rave reviews. Also found a smaller chef's knife. I am addicted. So I bought one for each of them and another sheath for each one, plus a glove to protect my fingers now that I have all these nice and sharp knives! I guess you could say I'm crazy about these knives. and so I had no choice but to give this knife 5 stars. I am just LOVE. LOLthanks Vitorinox!
