I've only used this to tow a kayak once but so far it seems solid and well built. Assembly wasn't too difficult, but it does have a rubber component that makes it a bit difficult to get the bars in. I would suggest adding a rubber mallet to the instructions, if I didn't have decades of IKEA assembly experience I'd be really struggling. Also, it wasn't easy to install it on the car with the included wrench. I would recommend using a 1/2" ratchet wrench for most of the build but then using a flat wrench to install it on the car which made life MUCH easier. . The instructions list the wrong key size, so play with it until you find the right size for me, it was 1/2" but I don't know if it's standard or not. Also, the big black one is " "Light Bolt" the bolt you use first, it wasn't listed in the instructions and it wasn't until I read further that it named another bolt type used in the build I was using. I was able to figure it out through the elimination process. The front and rear attachment straps are amazing and I felt like they really keep the kayak up to speed, but the blue traps I didn't feel were that strong so I'm planning on replacing them with heavier duty camera straps I'm on In general I am very satisfied with the purchase.
