Perfect! in Waste Disposal & Parts

I love Moen products - I have never been disappointed with their products or service. They avoid using plastic (ABS) in critical parts (see Insinkerator issues below). Components such as the sink stopper are of good quality and the device itself is elegant and goes well with my sink. It was really easy to install, except for putting the two rings together (that was because I was weak and not the product), the instructions were well written and clear with little details - like tips a plumber might know, but a homeowner might not know. Love it! Here's the advice they won't give you - if you can't balance the pressure and attach the unit to the sink ring, use a jack. I put a jack under the block, turned it around until it was tight and then it was very easy to snap them together. I hope the idiot doesn't read this and pulls his sink out from under the counter. I don't find it particularly loud - for goodness sake folks, it's a garbage chute! Apparently some people DON'T KNOW that garbage chutes squeak, growl, chew, etc depending on what's thrown into it. And, God forbid, I've seen many teaspoons fly out of them. My advice? Don't leave it running in the bedroom while you sleep. I only have one complaint; if you are MFGS. Expect the homeowner to install that in the least obnoxious way so we don't return the damn thing why why why don't you turn on the plumbing putty? Not that we all have it laying around. grrr. By the way, I originally bought the incinerator because it was expensive, half the price of Moen - a mistake. I sent the incinerator back because when I opened the box they had all the parts to plasticize! In fact, the collar that fits right under the sink (which includes the connecting ring) was already broken when I received it - it was ABS plastic. So it just shows that Moen is the best value.
