Review on Nintendo Switch Hori Fighting Commander - Officially Licensed by Nintendo by Mario Beaklini

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The key mapping feature works well, you just need to learn how to do it.

I received this controller but didn't write reviews until I'd used it long enough. I tested it with several games: -Ultra Street Fighter 4 (works on Xbox One) -Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (works on Xbox One) -Karnov's Revenge (XB1) -Real Bout Fatal Fury Special (XB1) -World Heroes 2 ( XB1 ) )-Tekken 7 (XB1)-Killer Instinct (XB1)-Mortal Kombat XL (XB1)-Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (XB360)-Street Fighter X Tekken (XB360)-Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (XB360)-Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (XB360) - The King Of Fighter XIII (XB360) I love fighting games but have always suffered with Xbox controllers; Although Microsoft improved the Xbox One controller over the 360, it still wasn't the best controller, especially because of the directional pad. Now, after using this controller for a few days, I can definitely recommend it to fans of fighting games. For other games like shooters, sports, adventure and racing games, both the original XB1 controllers and the 360 controllers work very well. But in fighting games, it's difficult to perform certain movements because the D-pad isn't the best. The cross in HORI FC is impeccable. It's much easier to get everything out of any of the above games, and they all play great with no input lag or other issues no matter what console they're running on. The controller never feels cheap. The USB cable is long enough. The controller fits perfectly in the hand, the buttons are well placed and feel very good on the fingers when pressed. I also bought a Mortal Kombat Fight Pad which is way behind the HFC. I won't delve into the controller specs as there are many other reviews good for this part. I just want to mention something about the Assign button. While assigning the buttons is very easy, I'd like to mention how to do it since the instructions that came with the controller aren't very clear or self-explanatory. Actually, I had to try several times until I finally figured it out. Location of front buttons X, Y, RB and A, B, RT. This array leaves the LT and LB keys on the right shoulder, which is a real problem for me, especially for Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. On the left shoulder we have buttons for the right and left stick. Kind of an awkward position for her. but anyway. How do I map buttons? Very easy. Suppose I want to place the RT button where the LT button is in this HORI FC controller, the second button on the right shoulder: 1. Press the assignment button for about 3 seconds until the red light on the Controller flashes.2. While this indicator is flashing, you must first press the LT button as you want to place the RT button instead of the LT button. This is the final target of the RT button, so LT.3 must be pressed first. Finally, press the RT button. When you do this, the light will stop flashing, but the red light will not go out. This indicates that the assignment is in use. Now the RT button is in the second right shoulder button.4. You can assign other buttons to other locations by following the same steps. It doesn't matter if the red light stops flashing, if you keep pressing the pairing button for another 3 seconds, the light will start flashing again and you can repeat the pairing process. Remember that the key names printed on the controllers are the key to the following assignments. For example, we already placed the RT button where LT is in the controller. So let's say you now want to map the LT button on this controller to the button that should be LT on a standard Xbox One/360 controller: the second button on the left shoulder. On the HORI controller, this button is RSB (right stick button). Follow the same steps: hold the Assign button for 3 seconds, press the RSB button (since that is the LT button assignment) and finally press the LT button. Didn't we move the RT button to LT before? Do not worry! The RT button does not switch to RSB. The controller still recognizes the LT button as an LT function. So if you're worried about the controller being a mess, it's not. AS LONG AS YOU MAKE IT ONCE AND IN GOOD ORDER.6. If you are confused or have mismapped a button, or if you want to try different configurations for different games and start over, press the mapping button again for three seconds and once the light starts flashing again, press the guide button. . This will reset the entire controller to factory settings. The red indicator will also turn off, indicating that nothing is being assigned at the moment. This controller retains button assignments even after turning off the console and unplugging the controller, so you don't have to repeat this process every time you plug in a controller. I'm assuming the configuration is stored in the controller because I keep switching controllers between Xbox One and Xbox 360, but I didn't need to run the mapping process on Xbox 360. I've only done it on Xbox One and as far as I can tell I can use the controller in any console and the configuration remains. I definitely recommend this controller, it's excellent!
