Review on Compatible Changing Daylight Dimmable Recessed by Abdul Jorge

Good bulbs, terrible documentation, mediocre app

Bulbs work well, with a full range of colors across the color spectrum, including partially saturated colors and a range of warm/cool whites. The installation process is poorly documented and based on poor hardware/software support. The app is confusing, complicated, uses poor English and doesn't support the basic features you would expect from a good smart light bulb kit. The need for adjustment is high. To set this up, you need to disable all 5GHz networks with the same name. For many routers, the default setting prevents them from connecting, which means you'd better know a lot about router administration to make this work. For example, on Xfinity routers, they set them up with the same network name on 2.4GHz and 5GHz by default. This prevents these lamps from being connected. They don't tell you this in the product information or documents. Trying to set up these indicators forced me to do the above, which resulted in the router now presenting two networks with the same name in a way that most devices in the house were unable to connect to. To fix this, I was forced to change the name of the 5GHz network so they no longer overlap, which then required reconfiguring multiple devices. As you try to set them up, the lights will flash like they're in a horror movie and you have to keep going back to the room they're in to do a 4-way on/off (not 3-way like the documentation does indicated). . You'll keep seeing really weird English translations like "Check the lighting errors and try again," which is both a big Google Translate bug and a weird reference to Animal House. Finally, after all of this is set up, adding lights to rooms is tricky and once you figure out how to set up rooms and add lights to them, you'll get your time back. Nothing. You would expect to be able to dim all the lights in a room with a single control. no In fact, the "Rooms" function is useless and you actually need groups. Groups is a hidden undocumented feature that hides in the edit screen for individual bulbs. The attached screenshots show where to look for the 'Edit' button and then click 'Create Group'. Once you've done that, you can tick all the lightbulbs in the room and name the group - like the name of the room, like "Kitchen" - and so you can instantly adjust the color and brightness of the lightbulbs. an undocumented hidden feature called Scenes. They allow you to play light animations, e.g. B. 4 lightbulbs disappearing in a rainbow pattern. In order to use them, you must first decide which of the 8 built-in scenes you want to use to create your animation - you cannot exceed 8 scenes. You then change the default behavior of that scene by clicking Edit, one for each lightbulb. If your goal is something more complex, such as a rainbow, repeating this process for each affected bulb will be time consuming since there is no way to create a scene for multiple bulbs at once. To play a scene, go into each individual bulb and toggle to it - turning on a scene in a group doesn't play the individual bulb animation, but an animation for all bulbs. Lighting Ever/LEPro must document all of these features on their website. It's strange that there aren't any manuals on the site at all. This should make the rooms implicit groups and make it easier to find the group function. It should be possible to run the scene so that every single light in the group is animated.
