Bought on request for my daughter at school - she really wanted a red backpack and after studying it seemed the best option. I felt like the quality wouldn't be the best just because of the price, but I figured it wouldn't matter that much for a seventh grader. Just a few weeks later, the loop handle on the top broke (ripped out of the seam) on one side. The material is very thin, and although she says "it's okay," I doubt it will even last a full school year. . The straps seem quite thick and strong, but judging by the fact that the top loop snapped, I'm also waiting for one of the straps to snap at the seam. She quite packed it to be honest, but I would expect the bag to be able to support the weight of what fits in it.
