It took me a few tries to use it properly but now I use it every day. If you just want to make a cup of coffee instead of a whole pot, this is a great solution. Easy to clean and saves money on filters. I have some tips for using this device. First you need to grind your coffee very well. I love a strong cup of coffee and I need to set my grinder to the finest setting to properly brew this drip irrigation method. With this device, the water flows across the bottom fairly quickly and tends to pool in the center of the cone. When you pour water, part of it seeps through the filter into the wide funnel on the bottom of the device. It's okay - it's meant to be. But because of this, you need to pour water fairly slowly. Filling everything at once can cause overflow. I highly recommend until you get used to using the device to use a clear glass tumbler underneath so you can see the level in the tumbler and avoid overflowing. Once you understand how much water to pour and how quickly, you can use a regular cup.
