Not Worth the Hassle
Through trial and error, I found that this sponge prefilter caused more headaches than benefits. The only pro is that it does a decent job at filtering debris. However the sponge is flimsy and constantly falls off the pump intake. This causes the pump to make loud and annoying noises, which ultimately disrupts the peace of my aquarium. Save yourself the trouble and look for a better prefilter option..
- Helps to prolong the lifespan of aquarium filter media by trapping larger debris particles.
- Could potentially clog the filter if not cleaned or replaced regularly.
