Poor quality control. This is one of the most expensive steps and the quality and finish should reflect that. The aluminum plate was attached without removing all the holes from the skin. The end caps look like a 2 year old hammered them with a piece of wood. The last straw tried to put the pin in the correct hole, which was 1/4 of the straight hole. A smaller addition step is practically useless. It's too close to the main point and definitely more dangerous to the trip than helpful. After all that, I'm sending this one back and getting the best one for half the price. Go Rhino has really turned into cheap Chinese import junk.
