The helmet is not that bad. It's styrofoam with a plastic shell similar to high end helmets that cost 3-5 times more. The only issues I have with this helmet are the BELTS and CLIPS. They don't stay in the plastic buckle that you close under your chin so you don't have to take your helmet off. The straps came out of that plastic clasp 3 times in 6 rides - not good. There are things you could do to mitigate this problem, but they are not necessary. Also 2 CLIPS under the ears are cheap and don't close. Both of these issues make this helmet unsafe as it won't fit properly on your head while riding, let alone in a fall.
