Review on 💻 CDI 2503CF3 Computorq Electronic Torque: Precision at Your Fingertips! by James Edwards

Quality issues on two units

I bought two CF3 torque wrenches specifically because they are known for their good quality and are made in America. However, I was disappointed to find that both had quality issues straight away. I couldn't even install the batteries on the first key as the battery contact spring seemed to be in the wrong place. I'm sure I can bend it into the working position with pliers, but I really don't expect to have to hack a new tool to get it working. How did it even pass quality control? The manufacture date of this unit is May 2018. The second key had the infamous stuck ratchet head issue, which was commented on by several other reviewers. I ignored these complaints because I thought CDI would solve such a common, recurring problem. But this key was locked right out of the box. The production date for the second key is December 2017, so it doesn't look like there have been any improvements made to it. I gave the product two stars because the performance of the second wrench I tried was decent and the 3 step LEDs + the maximum torque level reached are very efficient despite poor quality control. Product branding is also downplayed as the CDI name is very understated despite the huge stain on the handle (the red version of this key is branded on the handle after all). I returned both due to lack of quality control and will be looking for another item for my shop.
