Just for peace of mind when working on safety items

What were they thinking?!?

The carrier apparently keeps this item in a cupboard full of scented tea towels, or it came that way from the manufacturer. The scent is so strong that everyone comments on it and it worries the people who use it. There must be a short somewhere in the torque wrench because when we first opened it up and put the batteries in, it broke off in the middle. Turning or shaking the key. Quality issues on two units

I bought two CF3 torque wrenches specifically because they are known for their good quality and are made in America. However, I was disappointed to find that both had quality issues straight away. I couldn't even install the batteries on the first key as the battery contact spring seemed to be in the wrong place. I'm sure I can bend it into the working position with pliers, but I really don't expect to have to hack a new tool to get it working. How did it even pass quality control? The…
