See I'm a simple guy. When I cook something I want it to be easy, but I also want it to be tasty. This is usually not the case. Although I like "gourmet" food, I have neither the patience nor the interest to cook this way. I came up with a recipe that I called "Chili Beef Stew". I add some bell peppers, onions, jalapenos, cayenne, etc - you get the point - and then I add a few pounds of braised beef. Usually this recipe yields rubbery meat, even when I cook it in a slow cooker. I've tried simmering and simmering it but it still comes out rubbery. When I cooked this recipe in Essen, the meat came out amazingly tender - a first for me - and I didn't have to do anything special to make it that way. In addition, everything was delicious. Another first. I've tried a few other recipes since then and they've turned out surprisingly well. To be honest I can't believe I made them. So if you are a simple guy like me, you will really appreciate this product. Not much prep, quick prep time and not much clean up. I bought this particular device based on customer reviews and agree with 9 out of 10 customers who gave this product a 5 star rating. However, when I bought it, I noticed that there weren't many accessories. Now that I've realized that I really like this stove and seem to use it all the time, I wrote to the company to ask if the various attachments for the 6 liter instant pot would also work with my Yedi. What was interesting and impressive was that I wrote my request late Sunday evening and received a response within an hour from Bobby Javaheri, Vice President of Yedi Houseware. That, my friends, is customer service when you have a C-level rep answering ordinary user questions on a Sunday, no less. Actually I was a bit shocked. (But happy when he told me that all Instant Pot 6 qt accessories will actually work on Yedi, so we actually have a lot of accessories to choose from.) In summary, I think the product is of good quality and works well. And the company seems responsive and very well run. Bottom line, I think I made the right decision in choosing to purchase Yedi. And as long as my rudimentary recipes keep popping up, like they still do, I'll be a happy little camper.
