Ideal for making coin rings. heavy duty steel. It has enough weight to smash fairly well and it doesn't dent. They are packed in a layer of oil to prevent rusting. It wipes off fairly easily. Keep in mind that this is unfinished steel and will only rust on its own from normal humidity, so take the proper precautions (I apply a coat of Johnson wax paste from time to time). The handle is knurled and offers excellent grip. Only criticism was that the narrow end is a bit rough for my taste. I have to drill 1/4 inch holes in my coins to make them work. Not much, but you just have to be aware of it.
