This is my first Chromebook so I have no comparison. The build quality appears to be excellent. I bought mine in gold color and it is beautiful. Nice IPS display. I run it with a resolution of 2500 x 1400. Extremely thin and light. The chicken-style keyboard takes some getting used to, but it's fun. For those browsers that complain about the lack of a CapsLock key, all you have to do is use the Shift key. Also, for those reviewers who complain about the lack of SD card support, this is nonsense. I'm using a Samsung Fit 64GB USB stick. It's tiny, sticking out less than half an inch from the device, and is faster than any SD card. A little learning curve with Chrome OS. Once you understand that, it's a much more enjoyable device. I have all my favorites in the bookmark bar and all app shortcuts on the shelf. Now it's a bit like Windows, but still different. I have one of the fastest routers on the market and it's the fastest device I've ever used. I run it on the developer channel and have full access to the play store. I just can't figure out how to activate my Google Now cards yet. If you love gadgets like me or just want a premium Chromebook without the premium price tag, just buy it. Every professional online review concludes that this is by far the best buy and I can't help but agree. :) UPDATE: First, ignore D. Friedman's emotionally biased, clueless review below. After spending some time on the Play Store, here's what happens. I open Chrome and click on the Google app and all my Google apps are there including the Play Store. I click on the Play Store app and leave immediately. I click on the app and press install and the device thinks for a few seconds then the device window comes up with a list of devices I've owned before lol. Chromebook not listed. I click install and then it says the app will be installed later. Apparently the Play Store does not currently recognize this device. Google is nearby. Remember I'm in the dev channel, NOT dev mode. They are two different animals. I will update when there is an update. UPDATE: The device now fully supports the Play Store on the beta channel. I also finally got my Google Now cards. This brings this Chromebook closer to a real computer. Couldn't be happier.
