Good vinyl, bad list and bad instructions

Rvinyl needs to update the product list and instructions for 2080 film. I didn't know that either, since I'm used to the 1080 version without a screen protector. This product listing shows images using the 1080 model, which is incorrect. The ad title is correct. Rvinyl should have changed this as it is a bad oversight. I ordered based on the pictures. First I wasted a whole section of the sheet (I cut this element into 3 equal parts) thinking the problem was with the vinyl itself. When I went to flatten it according to Rvinyl's printed instructions, tears appeared on the surface of the vinyl. I took this sheet off and threw it away thinking the 2080 was defective or that the piece of vinyl was defective. But then the second sheet had the same problem. After playing around with a small piece of junk I found that the 2080 comes with a thin plastic protective sheet on top and this sheet tears when the vinyl is smoothed. The biggest problem is that Rvinyl's instructions don't mention removing the protective film. They never bothered to update their instructions when going from 1080 to 2080. The other big issue is that gloss black 2080 is a bit glossier than gloss black 1080. So I've been working with the 1080 material most of the time and I have two sections left that need to be done with this 2080 product that I ordered . It's not Rvinil's fault, but it's worth mentioning. Not much different, but noticeable. If Rvinyl showed 2080 instead of 1080 in their pictures I would look elsewhere for 1080 vinyl. It's all Rvinyl's fault for not updating things when they moved to 2080. So if you're new to vinyl, save everything. Keep that in mind, or order from another 3M vinyl dealer who has better instructions.
