Review on Heat Set Inserts Compatible SP40NKUS Connecting by Phillip Reed

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Only used 3mm for welding and soldering

So far so good. Works perfectly. I used to use the pointed tip of my soldering gun to install inserts. I found the tip was too long and was melting the plastic under the inserts since the hole wasn't through. Sometimes when I took the iron out the insert stuck to the tip and pulled out. With a 3 mm tip that was no problem. It also turned out that for PLA 400 F was a good temperature, for ABS and Nylon 600 F was a good temperature. Any temperature above melted faster than I wanted and I couldn't easily control the depth. Although it was a little pricey, I haven't screwed up the hole yet. I would buy again as it is a very useful tool.
