Reliably connected to the socket in the car. The laptop AC adapter "plug" is shorter, but there is no problem moving the PC around in the car, but you may need to check the PC's charging indicator to see if it's actually charging. The blue light on the transformer indicates battery power at the source, but I've had a case of bad contact with a laptop. I repeat, this happened once. Tested by a 9 year old for a week camping trip and then used by me to run a dedicated PC for the external FOSCAM camera without solar power, no heat or power consumption issues. Bought three more.
