I messed up cleaning my mechanical keyboard and broke the switch so I used this suction cup to remove the old solder. A quick flick of each pole was enough and everything was clear as a whistle. Here's how it works: The solder sucker has a piston that moves forward and locks into place. There is a button on the tube, and when you bring the tip to the solder hot spot, press the button; This causes the piston to rebound and creates suction. I haven't had to use wicks for small jobs yet, but I'm sure they will work great for leftover small pieces when needed.
