I use it to write notes on my fridge. The color goes well with the front of my stainless steel fridge. I can't use magnetic things to write notes or shopping lists, stainless steel is not magnetic. This point provides an erasable surface for notes and the like on the fridge that is not affected by magnetism. The size is just right for a door next to each other. ** Importantly, this thing has been sitting on my fridge for over a year and still hasn't discolored or changed the appearance of the metal. Plastics can warp with the detergent I use on my fridge, causing them to wrinkle within a few months. Right now there's a half-inch rim of crumpled plastic around the perimeter of this thing. Because of this, I change them about every 7 or 8 months. And the erasability persists after several hundred write and erase cycles, which is really impressive for this type of product. To be honest it's better than some of the dry erase boards I've had. my caution. I have never applied it to a painted surface and do not know its performance there. However, I would recommend this to a friend (and I did)
