I didn't expect them to be as bright as plug in lights and they aren't. And there's not a huge difference between the two lighting settings. However, they provided a very nice soft glow in my windows. Comfortable enough that I bought a second set. Every light has ever worked. The batteries lasted the entire Christmas season into the new year. Remove the batteries before storing candles. There wasn't much juice left, so I disposed of the batteries (according to our disposal guidelines). The automatic on-off timer was good. Just make sure all the candles are close together when setting the on and off times. The suction cups work well. Very happy with the purchase.
