I was very happy to have found this splitter because I needed a splitter with a long Y section to connect to two non-adjacent USB ports to get. Most of these Y-cables assume your ports are next to each other and don't give you very much cable on the second connector. This actually allows me to plug in a second USB 2 port and get enough power to run a USB 3 hard drive.
