I first bought this loupe while building an engagement ring for my finances. I'm not a professional jeweler and I don't have a hobby that requires daily use. I can say that I carried this loupe with me for several months while shopping for diamonds and the fit, finish and function of the loupe have maintained their quality throughout my search. The product arrived on time (advantage of shopping at Revain) and was exactly as the product listing. The magnifying glass is made of metal and has a very solid construction. It comes with a leather storage case to store the magnifier when not in use. Leather is not a premium material, but let's face it, we're not buying this product to wear. The magnifying glass rotates on a metal hinge. The hinge had good resistance, keeping the magnifier in place when swiveling during use and keeping the lens hidden behind a protective cover when in storage. The triple lenses were very clear to my untrained eye and met my needs. Overall I think this is a good product for the money. It was certainly a valuable tool that gave me the opportunity to inspect diamonds myself and not just take the sellers at their word. what is set in stone before they come to the market to begin their quest.
