Review on πŸŽ€ Wee Wonderfuls: 24 Dolls to Sew and Cherish by Doris Tran

A surprisingly great addition to your sewing library!

I am an advanced seamstress, I teach. I ordered this book because I was looking for a good rag doll for my newborn son. When I first saw them, I had every intention of returning them. To be honest, I didn't like that the dolls' heads looked so disproportionate to their bodies. I didn't like the style of the clothes either. However, two projects caught my attention. First the Katy Kitty and Betsy pillow doll (based on felt dolls). However, I was on the fence about getting it back. Then my 6- and 11-year-old children climb onto my lap to leaf through the book with me. My 6 year old daughter immediately went for the mermaid doll and sent me to work. An 11-year-old girl wants a Katy Kitty doll. So it's a guard. The mermaid doll took less than an hour from drawing to completion. My six year old son made the filling for me. Now we're making one for my daughter's friend for her birthday. Love the photos in the book, the directional drawings for my 11 year old to see too and the fact that some of the projects are quick to complete as we have a newborn at home. I also like that it's hard cover and more durable. The only downside is that the patterns are drawn on top of each other and don't lay flat. They refer to the book. Photocopying before attempting tracking will help. I also added a small manila envelope to the back (prongs removed) with a glue stick to keep the templates I used so they wouldn't get lost for future projects. I would recommend it for beginners and elders. Even my girls love it. I've included a table of contents with my review for those who want to see what specific projects are included in the book.

Pros
