You can shape all kinds of materials, from soap to candle wax to plaster of paris. My son is into dinosaurs and loves them. Industry standard silicone mold thickness, holds up well. The shapes are simple enough to work well with a variety of materials, but detailed enough to be interesting and engaging to a child. The size of each shape is large enough to appear "rather large" (ie hands) to a five year old child. I got this mainly on a whim as my daughter was making plaster casts of other things and my 5 year old son wanted to make some too but dinosaurs of course. For the price, it probably couldn't be more perfect.
