When I first started using these kayak pads, my kayak started sliding forward on the trunk before I was even a block from home. The fabric covering the outside of the pads is so smooth that it offers no resistance to the kayak sliding forward, backward or sideways. When I stopped to reposition the kayak, the velcro came loose as I tried to position the boat correctly. The combination of the slickness of the fabric and weak Velcro made these kayak pads dangerous to use. I got home, unloaded the kayak and switched to the torn foam pads I was hoping to replace.
