Fails after 5 Months: Supply Pumps

UPDATED ***** Today, just over 5 months after installation, with less than 40 hours of total operation, the vacuum suction on the pump failed completely. Luckily I was right there to catch him as he just worked and worked and the body was almost hot. I was afraid it might catch fire. Went down to 1 star. This build is nearly identical to the Shurflo 4008 models I use on my homestead. The pump itself fit easily into the brackets I had used on one of my pumps. The nice thing is that the pump actually comes with a strainer, which is often an optional purchase to save you a few bucks and should always be used. I walked him through the emptying cycle of one of my 330 gallon containers. I had 200 gallons and it only took about 70 minutes. This is the same as my 3GPM pumps that I usually use. Can't speak to durability compared to the Shurflo models I've used, but I use my pumps daily compared to most RVs and they've been running for a couple of weeks with no difference as far as I can tell. from my normal pump. I keep my cargo tank set at 45psi so it will work out of the box, but you can adjust if needed. Price-wise, this is a great option - while I wouldn't want hardware to fail at this price point, I'd be comfortable having or using a backup just in case. I know this when one of my working pumps snaps right in - plumbing and electric - and seems to be working as hard as it does. If this continues I will be sure to replace my other pumps with this brand when they die.
