Review on ๐Ÿ  AQUANEAT Aquarium Bio Sponge Filter: Enhancing Breeding and Fry Development in Betta, Shrimp & Nano Fish Tanks - 3PCS Set (10 Gal) by Melissa Dudley

Impressive little sponge

This is the first time I have bought a bio sponge air filter. I have two tanks, 10 liters and 5 liters. I set this to 5 gallons as I just couldn't get a steady stream of clean air with the powerhead. I'm just impressed with the sponge filter. It is connected to a compact silent air pump and the sponge filter makes almost no noise, but the suction power is still enough for powerful ventilation. It's definitely a lot quieter than an air stone. The sponge is quite small but I find it has enough surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow which is ideal for a nano aquarium. Purchase came with three, but I don't set it to 10 gallons as I already have a second air air stone and installed a bio-sponge on the main power head. I think the maximum tank size of this sponge filter used as the ONLY primary air source is 10 gallons. Anywhere between 10 and 20 this would be great for a second source of air and filtering. I have a Scarlet Badis, a Mystery Snail and a Bunny Snail in 5. So far so good.
