Several people have asked how to get rid of green algae in carp ponds. The filter material helps with this. Here's how: Cut a few squares of filter material off the roll (using normal scissors). These should match the length and width of the inside of the skimmer/pump box. Place the squares in the skimmer/pump box in front of the pump, which is on the pond side of the pump that circulates in the pond. Let the pump pump the water around the pond and over the pads. Clean the filter pads once a day with a garden hose: remove the pads from the box, shake off algae and other debris until clean, then place back in the skimmer/pump box. Do this once a day. Add beneficial bacteria powder to your pond several times a week. No magic, nothing else is required, just diligence. The fish will love it.
