I recently bought a new bike with Shimano Ultegra SPD-SL pedals. Since SPD-SL shoes are hard to come by these days, I decided to ride them in regular running shoes while waiting for the shoes to arrive. It takes a little effort to attach the adapter to the pedals, but once installed it stays secure. I've read other comments about the difficulty of getting them off the pedals. It takes some effort to remove them. I've found that the best way to do this is to insert a small screwdriver into the side hole of the adapter and rotate the platform the same way you would remove the SPD-SL pads from the pedals. Overall a great solution that gives me the opportunity to cycle without special shoes.
