I fed my two cats (now 10 years old) a variety of foods for the first year of their life. I then gave up Purina's standard cat food because it was less than $15 a bag and I was a starving chick getting through college. After finally becoming more financially secure, I decided it was time to upgrade their food to something more substantial quality. Man, good cat food is expensive! I read tons and tons of reviews and articles pointing me in the right direction, and I ended up buying Taste of the Wild (I later found out that this brand was associated with Blue Diamond, which had more food reviews , than I would like, and questionable formula changes with ambiguous ingredient origins). The cats hated it and only ate it when they were hungry. So I went back to the whetstone and this time opted for this brand that struck me as more serious in terms of quality and production. Cats LOVE it (*ugh*). Incidentally, one of my cats licked her way to the cheese in places, so the grain-free option was appealing to me as well, as I'm trying to eliminate the influence of diet on her over-grooming, although I definitely haven't eaten this food long enough to to witness any miracles in this area. Overall I'm very happy with this meal so far.
