Review on 🚰 Moen Arbor Motionsense Wave Sensor Touchless Kitchen Faucet: Power Clean, Spot Resist Stainless by Brad Cash

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Too bad it didn't work out the first time. And a problem you should know about

We love our new Moen Motionsense kitchen faucet. At least now that we have a working one! First, let me say that I've never liked home plumbing projects because it feels like you're always in an awkward, awkward position in a tight space, like under a kitchen sink. Now that I'm in my 60's it's even worse. Removing the old faucet was painful, but I expected it. Installing the new Motionsense faucet was surprisingly easy and took probably 45 minutes. The problem was that it didn't work. The sensors didn't work and the thing just randomly turned the water on and off. I've tried resetting it following the troubleshooting guide at least 20 times, each time having to crawl under the sink again. Another hour passed. Then I called the support. True, they were great, but they took another hour or more to troubleshoot (back under the sink a few more times). They eventually concluded that the unit was defective and FedEx ordered another overnight. I installed it and it works great. I love this product and recommend it. The reason for the low rating is obviously because the first one I bought didn't work and I spent many hours troubleshooting and then had to uninstall and install it. One more thing. Assuming you don't have the problems I'm having, there's one more thing I found odd that you should be aware of. For a crane to work, it needs a power source. I bought an AC adapter so I wouldn't have to worry about changing the battery (which would require another trip under the sink). Well, if there's a power outage (or you're using a rechargeable battery and the batteries die) and the faucet doesn't get power as a result, even the manual faucet's handle won't work. It's hard to believe, but it's true! The unit under the sink that controls the hydraulics prevents water from flowing when it has no power. So no electricity, no dead batteries and no water. Nice looking faucet that doesn't work. If the sensors fail on the way, the hand tap will not work either.
