Review on πŸ’Ύ Argon ONE M.2 Case for Raspberry Pi 4 (Argon M.2 CASE ONLY) – Supports SATA SSD, B-Key, B+M Key Compatible by Rashan Jimenez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty cool but needs a little improvement

I bought this because I need a keyless way to connect an SSD to my Pi. This is a great solution for that. The connection redirection is pretty nice too, otherwise the Pi looks like some kind of electronic creature with tentacles. Actually only two complaints. The fan is terrible. Already at 25% you can hear him whining. I disabled the fan and am using an AC Infinity 120mm hat. I'd rather remove the fan and drop the price by $5. Or use a better fan. No access to SD card. Not necessary if you're booting from an SSD, but if you don't have to disassemble to get to the SD, it's a bit annoying. Paying half the price of a Pi for a case seems a bit ridiculous, but it's not your typical empty box. Real engineering must have gone into the making of this thing, so overall I'd recommend it. I bought 2. And the last. How do you set that. Too many people make it too difficult for themselves. 1) Plug the SSD into the base 2) Attach the included board to the Pi 3) Place the Pi on the case 4) Assemble the case without screws 5) Plug in the included USB adapter 6) Press the power button on the back 7) turn RDP on the Pi or connect peripherals 8 ) app menu > accessories > sd card copier to copy from microSD to SSD 9) sudo raspi-config advanced options to set desired boot order 10) Power off 11) Open the case and remove microSD 12) Screw the circuit boards inside the case with small screws 13) Use longer screws to assemble the case

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Speed
