The first thing that struck me was that it was made in Japan and not China. I will no longer buy any of my tools from China. Next, it fits my hand perfectly. Now for the features: - Extremely readable white background with big numbers for my old eyes; - Sturdy hook, protected/recessed to avoid damage when dropped; - Recessed blade groove that allows it to extend 8 feet before "breaking". ;- Double-sided blade, ie marking on both sides; - An eyelet for a security cable (not included). Love it!
