In a nutshell - I'm a US Air Force veteran. The US Air Force "seal" on my hat is incorrect for a number of reasons. Mine only has 11 stars instead of thirteen and some of the colors are wrong. However, MCMXLVII is what the seal itself shows in the same way as the cap, so it's fine. However, it is clear that the designer decided to change the actual appearance of the official "seal”, and with it the meaning. I suggest designers go to afhistory.af.mil, the Air Force's historical support department, where you can see what the print should look like and read what all the elements stand for. must make the necessary changes. We pilots are proud! In the end, it's about respect and honor! Msg Oliver, retired
