Review on Geekify Model-1 Digital Multimeter: True RMS 6000 Counts Auto-Ranging Tool Kit with 87-Page Manual - Voltage, Current, Frequency, Resistance Tester by Paarvin Freedman

Reliable device with fantastic manual

First of all, this multimeter is a beast. For the price, I was expecting a handheld-size device, like my previous "good enough for a home hobbyist" Craftsman multimeter that I've owned for almost 2 decades. The listing doesn't tell the scope of this thing and I think they should be a little more sizing oriented as the product seems to be a lot more substantial than one would expect from the listing alone. There's nothing wrong with that (unless you're looking for a compact device, but thankfully size wasn't a factor in choosing this device, so it was a pleasant surprise, not a downside). The temperature sensor seems to be well processed. The ends of the leash are sharp and the wires are soft and flexible but not flimsy. They seem to hold up very well over time and use (I would say they inspire confidence). The display is VERY easy to read and the backlight is strong, nothing washes out. Marketing photos don't capture how well the backlight looks and works, and I'd suggest updating the product's backlight photos to better show what it's capable of. Seriously, I was expecting much less quality than I actually got. Don't be fooled by the photos, the display isn't very good. What really makes the deal for me is the guide/manual that comes with it. It not only explains the different buttons and functions, but also describes the correct settings for your intended measurements. The explanations are clear and useful for anyone who is not a qualified electrician. As a hobbyist and homeowner, I really appreciate what Geekify has done to ensure their customers get what they need from the product (and I also expect that this will help them avoid a lot of bad reviews because the end user doesn't understand what it's actually trying to do and setup its tests incorrectly, leading to poor results). Bottom line - if you're a homeowner or amateur electrician who doesn't need an industrial/commercial grade multimeter for a few hundred bucks. don't care about anything else. I've used this to troubleshoot and repair game consoles, guitar electronics and my HVAC system when the AC unit blew a capacitor and fuse and I was convinced. If anything happens to him, I'll buy another one without hesitation.
