Review on LG 32GK650F B Monitor: FreeSync, 2560X1440P Resolution, Pivot & Swivel Adjustment, High Dynamic Range, 32GK650F-B.AUS by Robert Akers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Huge monitor with few compromises

I've bought the monitor for a while now. My last PC upgrade and setup is over 5 years old and it's time to start over. Before this behemoth, I had a 24-inch 1080p display that served me well, and while I love its fast response time and high refresh rate, I wanted something more. So I looked for 27 inch displays; The only problem was that I couldn't find it in my budget. That's when I heard about this monitor. There were good reviews everywhere and I decided to give it a try. Below are my pros and cons for this monitor. -- Pros -- 1. Size This monitor is huge. I thought I knew what 32-inch displays look like, but it's a whole different matter when it's on your desk. Aspect ratio monitor, that's all. The display size is amazing for gaming. I started Doom in 2016 for a test run with this guy and ended up playing a lot longer than I initially expected. 2. Response Time / Refresh Rate With low response time and high refresh rate, as well as adaptive sync, this monitor is smooth. I play various games and it's fast even compared to my former BenQ TN monitor. It's fun to move around the desktop and slay demons in Doom. What more do you want? 3rd prize. The most attractive thing for me is the price of this monitor. There are few of these under $450. On the other hand, this monitor often costs between $375 and $300 (if you can stock one). This is a steal for such specs. -- Cons -- 1. The size of "Wait". I thought it was a pro? You could say. While I think it is, it can also be a major disadvantage for some. One monitor for each table under 2ft deep is too small. You must either mount this beast on a wall or have a deep desk. I recommend this due to the monitor's weak pixel density of around 93ppi. This is about the same PPI as a 24 -" 1080p display but this might be an issue for some. Color shifting at the tops of the corners, for some this may be an impediment. Overall I would recommend this monitor if you are looking for a great monitor for immersive gaming and media consumption and have the space to easily display this signal.
