I love this timer but be warned - the alarm sounds EXACTLY like a fire alarm! When you hear it for the first time it can be a bit confusing and definitely not to be ignored! I have a habit of putting food on the stove to cook and then returning to work in my home office near the kitchen. With my old manual timer, I was often so engrossed in my work that I didn't hear or respond to the alarm. And another pot of burnt beans, burnt chillies, burnt junk and dried pots to clean up. No longer. This timer is loud enough to grab attention no matter what else you're doing. The magnet on the back is also a nice feature. Allows the timer to be attached to the fridge or other metal surface that will not interfere with cooking.
