My wife and I use it in different ways: At home we often enjoy wine, cheese and fruit in the evening. It's the perfect size for an afternoon cheese, er, evening. We also take it with us when we travel. It's small enough to fit in a zip-loc bag and carry around in our insulated picnic basket. It's even perfect for serving cheese-free, tie on a dry salami cutting board at parties. I like the slate finish because it's easy to clean, especially if you use it on blue cheese or cream cheese. The knives are functional and the quality is what you would expect given the price of this set. For larger meetings we have larger boards and more than a few. But for intimate rituals like ours, that's exactly what you need. When not in use, it is kept on our dining table next to the spice tray.
