Review on ๐Ÿ”ช ZENG JIA DAO Butcher Knife: High Carbon Forged Steel Cleaver for Kitchen and Slaughter House Needs by Danielle Hartman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Probably the best cheap knife.

Okay, let's start with how I found this knife: the steel it's made of. 9CrMoV18 is a really good steel and I was looking for a cheap outdoor hedge trimmer. As for the price, I was skeptical about this knife. After using it for a while I no longer doubt it. This knife is big. This is a cleaver with a curved end and not a small one. It's a little heavy but not that bulky. It's the perfect weight for what I wanted and a really good size. It arrived incredibly hot, which isn't all that unusual. Most decent knives are sharp, but they don't stay sharp, so I tested them with the levels. green branches, no problem. Its weight is sufficient to be used as a lightweight machete in an emergency. I've also used it (apparently after washing) to shave frozen roast beef with as little resistance as slicing a stick of butter at room temperature. I also cut a fully frozen turkey breast (about 6 inches in diameter) in half. I made the outside inch by simply pressing down firmly on the knife. Unfortunately, the interior did not go so quickly. In the incision already made, place a hot pad on top and tap the back of the blade with a cast-iron skillet. cutting through. After all that I washed the knife and it was still sharp enough to shave with. The knurling on the back of the blade tip feels comfortable and prevents fingers from slipping when you put your hand on the back of the blade. Looks about the same as in the pictures. The only complaint about this knife is that this knife doesn't come with a sheath. For a kitchen knife it doesn't matter, although it would still be nice. For my purpose, I had to make two sleeves for it, and I'm going to make a third because she cut through the first and the second through the retaining clip, so I'll have to rearrange them. I wholeheartedly recommend this knife and expect the rest of the set to be just as good. I hope to find out soon.
