This is the second rug we have bought for our sink and we love it. I basically chose this version so we could put hot pots/pans in the sink and not worry about messing things up. It's also really nice for preventing more delicate items from breaking (our cat usually knocks dishes off the counter into our sink when we leave something behind). It's easy to clean with dish soap, but if you don't clean it regularly, things can grow on the underside. I've found that hand scrubbing the rug is more effective at removing dirt, but it can also be washed in the dishwasher many times with ease. The previous rug we bought lasted over two years and was still in good condition, but we had neglected it for too long and were uncomfortable leaving it in the sink with a layer of dirt on the underside.
