I bought these to replace the regular glass baking pan I was using (it was a lot smaller). I found this item perfect and just what I was looking for. My Hammy (Winter White) loves it! It has more room to ride and groom than the other sand tub I started with. The sand bath can be disassembled, so after filling, the lid can simply be wiped clean with a napkin or even a garbage brush. bedding or sand on it. It also makes it easy to clean the inside of the bin and scoop out poop or pee (he also uses it as a potty seat). The half lid is meant to give your hamster privacy and comfort when he's grooming himself, but I found that wasn't enough for him. So I added vine wood and flat cork trunks around it and that only seemed to ease his discomfort. The package was also delivered in good condition. And the packaging as a whole ensured the product was securely packed to avoid tearing or other damage to the item itself. The only "downside" is that it's a bit pricey. But again, this is an investment and if you don't mind and can spend the extra money on an item like this, go for it. Otherwise, you can just go to thrift or dollar stores and buy glass baking pans or plastic containers for them and use them as a sand bath. Just make sure it's big enough for them to ride on and also put a skin in it so they can have privacy and feel comfortable and safe!
