Mortality too high.

December 2018 update Terrible. Twelve strings - then all defective. several hours. I had to sacrifice one to replace elements (now I can cut and replace a dead element in about 30 minutes - I even developed my own dead element check and quick connect kit). Sometimes if I let a strand fall for a few days or a week it comes alive, which is weird. It smells of overpriced components and poor quality production (there is even a drop of solder on one element). Usually when replacing a dead element, a second (or third, or fourth...) dead element is found downstream. These are not voltage or power surges as I follow recommendations carefully and have full protection. This can be useful for a small indoor demonstration, but is not suitable for outdoor demonstrations. They aren't even weatherproof as they can leak through the end caps when it rains. My plan is to sell them (for whatever residual value I can get) and upgrade to a commercial product. Update May 2018: Nine out of eleven now have dead elements rendering the rest of the series unusable. I'm diligent about applied tension, so it's the strings, not me. It is difficult to cut dead elements and glue strips together. Alitove should offer some kind of repair kit. _____________________ I bought 11 strings. There are issues with three that came up after a few hours of use and I put my plugs on them. One has a "stuck" element, one is dead in the middle of the path, and a third is dead after the first element. This is too high a failure rate for me (I watch voltage and ground). I suspect this is a quality control issue in China on the 5050 cells but the colors are good and visible from a distance.

Pros
