WD JOIN THE WORK

I first bought a WD 2TB NVME to use as my primary OS but it couldn't even be properly migrated/cloned with their own software. I downloaded third party migration/cloning software and it didn't work either. I tried almost everything I could in 1.5 days! I even tried doing a manual backup/restore and then restoring. Nothing worked. It was a waste of time. I didn't even learn anything from doing this, other than to realize that I should go with a company that has an all-in-one solution readily available that doesn't waste your precious time. 1.5 days wasted. I ended up moving my Samsung NVME 1TB to the new Samsung NVME 2TB and it couldn't be easier. < 15 minutes, very fast! I've previously swapped from a Corsair SSD to a 1TB Samsung NVME (when I couldn't transfer another SSD properly) and it was fine too. Why didn't I go straight for Samsung 2TB instead of WD? There was positive news about this in the press. I'm not a fan, so I like to try different solutions. There was an error. After this experience, I realized that Samsung is better than all of its competitors in offering a comprehensive package of the best hardware and software. The experience is PERFECT. To date, I haven't had any issues with any of their storage solutions. Why did I bother to write this review? Because I lost 1.5 days. Something has to go. Maybe this will help someone, or maybe WD is gathering its forces and working on its cloning/migration software because the hardware seems awesome. Disclosure: I bought and paid for everything myself and still have HD/SSD/MicroSd from WD (old HD only), Sandisk (microsd, ssd), Seagate (HD), Samsung (SSD, Micro SD and NVME).

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
