Review on Activated Recording Intelligent Reduction Negotiations Portable Audio & Video by Tim Beardsley

I thought this product would last longer before failing. It's only been a few months and I've only used it a couple of times. I was able to download and read the files initially. Now I cannot access the files on the recorder. with the notes I made. It also doesn't turn off even when the switch is off, the files no longer open on my computer and I can't access my recordings. I can't hear anything when I use headphones. I am extremely disappointed. I wrote to the company and they quickly replied that I needed to disassemble the recorder and access the data that way. Unfortunately I don't know how to do this and I'm desperately looking for the recorded information but I can't get it. I get an error saying the files could not be found or deleted even though I saw the list when it suddenly loaded. So I see the filename "REC" on my F drive, but nothing else happens when I try to open it. Has anyone else who bought this recorder had problems like this? I really wish it wouldn't crash because it's actually good and records very discreetly. I should have looked at the very low reviews before purchasing. I just want to be able to access my recorded information before returning it as suggested by the company. Update: Would love to up the stars because the company has been trying to help. But I can't because I can't get my VERY IMPORTANT NOTES anymore. The files are encrypted. The company told me to open the registrar, remove the microflash drive and download it to the computer. I have made. But suddenly the files with my notes stopped opening. I took the disc to Best Buy only to find the files are encrypted and I can no longer retrieve the information I wrote down. It's terrible! The company offered to send me another recorder, but I didn't want that, I wanted my recordings from several meetings. It's like the files are now in a foreign foreign language and can't be read or opened. The company offered to refund my money but how would that help me, I CANNOT open or access the files because they are encrypted. It ruined BIG TIME. Don't take chances with this recorder and end up like me. I still want my logged data but I seem to have NO WAY of ever getting the information. What a horrible experience to lose very IMPORTANT information because of this BAD product.
