Review on TUSA IQ-1204 DC Solar Link Dive Computer by Matt Wigfall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solar and Bluetooth = Freedom

As the gear master for a family of three divers, these Dive Watch/Computers have been liberating. We've owned them for 3 years and over 120 dives and they've worked flawlessly, including the really useful phone App which we use to log all our dives. The killer features of these devices are the solar rechargeable battery and the Bluetooth functionality with the phone app. These free you from the tyranny of replacing batteries or hassling with charging cords. These have the form factor of a Casio G-Shock watch (based on the Frogman models) and serve as our wrist watches during travelling. All the necessary dive features are present and easily adjustable (we mostly adjust time and gas settings). Uploading dive data to the phone App is quick and easy, and it's fun to add the GPS map point of your dive, as well as a photo. I keep these in their boxes on a window sill (pictured) and they are always fully charged and ready to go.

Pros
  • ‎Tabata USA, Inc.
Cons
  • While the solar charging feature is innovative and eco-friendly, it may not be practical for those who frequently dive in low-light or indoor environments, leading to a potential need for supplemental charging methods
