I have purchased items at least once a week for the past two years and this is the single best product that I've purchased. So works so well, that I wish I would have gotten it sooner. It sure would have made things alot easier for me.I have a 4 year old pond that is about 4x7x2. Not very big, roughly 143 gallons last time I measured it. It has 5 adult koi around 8 inches in length, and 30 or so babies. There are also 2 frogs and a turtle that live in it.This pump works like a boss. My previous pump got clogged every 5-10 days(3 upgraded pumps over 3 years), depending on the season and amount of algae. This pump hasn't been cleaned in the past 4 months because of the cold weather and it is still running like new.The UV light certainly works at reducing algae to a point that almost no algae exists during summer. The pump itself is powerful enough to keep the water crystal clear. The LED light is also an attractive feature, but I don't care about it that much.If your considering buying this pump, just go ahead a do it. It's worth it. Just make sure it can handle the about of gallons your pond is, if not, get the larger one.PHOTO EXPLANATIONThe pond was pea-soup green, with a visible depth of about 1 inch. I installed this pump without cleaning the pond to see how it would perform. The photo shows how clear the water got in less than 2 days. You can still see all the algae on the rocks below, but at the same time the water is crystal clear. Clear to drink, although I wouldn't. The pump with UV lamp works. Period.
